About Piers Bocock

Piers Bocock brings energy, empathy, strategic thinking, and a deeply service-oriented perspective to his work in real estate. As a leader of the Katie Bocock Team alongside his wife, Katie, Piers works closely with buyers and sellers throughout Washington, DC, and close-in Maryland, with particular expertise in Takoma Park and the communities surrounding it. Clients value his ability to make complicated situations understandable, keep people calm and informed, and stay closely involved in the many details that can determine whether a move feels overwhelming or manageable.

Born in Washington, DC, to British parents, aside from a 4-year stint in British boarding schools, Piers grew up in the District and graduated from Edmund Burke School before earning a degree in Film and Communications from McGill University and an MBA in International Business from Georgetown University. His connection to the Washington area has remained a constant even as his career and family have taken him around the world. He and Katie have lived in Washington, Takoma Park, and, for several years, Montpellier, France.

Before turning his attention to real estate, Piers spent approximately twenty years in international development consulting, working with organizations, communities, and government agencies around the world. That career demanded many of the same skills he now brings to clients every day: listening carefully, communicating across different perspectives, managing complex projects, solving unexpected problems, negotiating thoughtfully, and keeping a large number of moving pieces headed toward a common goal.

In real estate, Piers has found a way to put those skills to work much closer to home. He particularly enjoys the hands-on side of the business—helping sellers think through preparation and repairs, coordinating the people and logistics required to bring a home to market, analyzing strategy and pricing, and helping buyers understand not just whether they can buy a particular home, but whether they should. His practice includes first-time buyers, relocations, remote purchases, estate sales, investment properties, and clients navigating major transitions.

Piers and Katie’s partnership is at the heart of the team. They bring different strengths and perspectives to the work, collaborate constantly, and have built the broader Katie Bocock Team around the idea that excellent real estate service should be both highly strategic and genuinely human. Their team’s work has been recognized by organizations including Bethesda Magazine, GCAAR, and DC Metro Real Producers.

For Piers, the most rewarding part of real estate is the relationship that develops along the way. He wants clients to feel that someone is truly in their corner—not simply getting a transaction to closing, but helping them make good decisions, anticipate problems, and move into the next chapter of their lives with confidence.
